Highly experiential, supportive and structured, the 8 week MBSR Programme will provide you with:
- guided instruction in mindfulness meditation practices.
- gentle stretching and mindful movement.
- group dialogue and mindful communication exercises to enhance awareness in everyday life.
- individually tailored instruction.
- daily home assignments.
- guided meditations and handouts.
The programme is challenging and life-affirming. Each session lasts 2 hours. Participating in the Stress Reduction Programme requires an ongoing commitment to yourself: the more you put in to practice the more you will benefit.
The Initial Consultation
I limit my courses to a maximum of 8 participants and therefore prefer to orient people to the course individually. This gives you an opportunity to meet me, tell me a little about what is going on for you and ask any questions that you may have.
I do this with all potential participants as I believe it is an essential part of the orientation process and allows people to get a feel for how I work and the environment in which the sessions take place.
Time spent with a mindfulness teacher at this stage also helps to manage expectations, thereby ensuring that the experience of the course will be as valuable and nurturing as possible.
This initial orientation / consultation lasts 40 minutes and is charged at £30.
